Subdivision review requires a copy of all tentative subdivision maps to be submitted to DWR for review. There is a fee required for the tentative review only, of $150 plus $1 per lot on the tentative map. Also required for approval is a valid will serve letter from the water purveyor. Once approved, the final subdivision map can then be signed by DWR. The jurat to which DWR signs guarantees water quantity to the subdivision. It is because of this "guarantee" that DWR must review and take into account the purveyor's water rights. Some of the issues that are a part of the review are:
