The Nevada Division of Water Resources consistently manages and maintains various databases accessible to the public, allowing access to electronic records. Select a program or service from the options provided to access a database. Forms for submitting data can be accessed through the Hydrologic Monitoring Forms page.
Hydrologic Monitoring
Hydrological data is collected by Division staff, permit holders, and collaborating agencies, then made accessible through online platforms. This includes precipitation, spring and stream flow, and water level data, all aimed at facilitating informed decision-making and enhancing understanding of water resource conditions in various basins within the state. Users can access the data via the buttons below and download datasets from NDWR’s Open Data page. Additionally, maps displaying monitoring locations and related information can be accessed at the Maps and GIS page.
Hydrologic Models
The Division maintains hydrologic models tailored for water management in Nevada, some developed in-house or with collaborators while others are provided by external entities to support various applications or hearing arguments. Each model, typically packaged into a single large file for download, comes with accompanying documentation if available; or is linked to external source. Users must be mindful of model limitations and the use of model results is at their own risk.
Meters Database
The Meters Database is an online interface for Nevada water-right owners to self-report meter readings. It is not a public database. Although online reporting is optional (users can still submit data through mail, email, fax or phone), many find it a convenient choice.
Water Use Inventories
The Division annually compiles water use inventory reports for numerous basins across the state. In basins where irrigation is the primary manner of use, crop inventories are compiled, including irrigated acreage and estimated water use by permit. In basins where diverse manners of use are present, pumpage inventories are compiled to estimate water usage associated with each permit and manner of use. Regional and statewide pumpage inventory reports are compiled less frequently.
Well Drillers' Reports
Nevada Licensed Well Drillers are required to submit a Well Drillers’ Report (Well Log) to the Division detailing construction methods and subsurface strata encountered after completing work on water wells or monitor wells. A Well Log is required when drilling a new well, plugging a well, or rehabilitating (altering the construction of) an existing well. The Division reviews and uploads completed Well Logs to the Well Log Database as they are submitted.
