Every well driller in the State must annually apply to the Division of Water Resources for a drilling license before engaging in any well development activities. Licensed drillers must supervise drilling sites for new wells, abandoned well plugging, or existing well rehabilitation, defined as a significant alteration in well design or construction of an existing well.
The Well Drilling Management System offers an online platform for new license applications, annual renewals, and submission of continuing education units. Additional resources cover testing, licensing procedures, renewals, continuing education, and the Well Drillers' Advisory Board.
