The Division has completed the regulatory process for the Extension of Time regulations. The process was finalized on June 30, 2026, and the updated regulation is effective as of July 1, 2026. Review of Extension of Time Regulations (NAC 533.390 – 533.500)
Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 533.390–533.500, effective December 22, 2022, govern applications for extensions of time to complete construction or apply water to beneficial use. These regulations require the Nevada Division of Water Resources to review their provisions at least once every three years.As part of this review, the Division hosted a public meeting, to discuss the Extensions of Time process, including the regulations' impact since their adoption and potential areas for revision.
